D-1(ps) JCTA supports legislation to combat harassment of teachers. (1/93) (B)
D-2(ps) JCTA requests the District
- to look at all schools and to correct all unsafe physical conditions in school buildings.
- to provide grant money to all schools for the purpose of developing their own safe schools plan.
- to support Safe Schools Report, especially recommendation 10 with the understanding that new guidelines for the placement of students be established, thus eliminating warehousing of poor and/or minority children. (9/94) (B) (See School Safety Action Plan, Appendix J.)
D-3(ps) JCTA recommends that assaulted teachers be made aware of their right to file civil suit against the student and parents. We further recommend that those assaulted teachers making a formal legal request be assisted by the Association. (2/95) (B)
