Brent McKim

A classroom physics teacher for fifteen years, Brent has been president of JCTA since 2001. Brent chairs our Representative Council and Board of Directors meetings. He also lobbies the state legislature on behalf of members. Brent also serves on the NEA’s resolutions committee. Brent believes that “JCTA gives voice to those who are closest to the learners in the classrooms, the teachers. Only through them can we realize the potential of every child.”

Vice President
Royce Whitman

A library media specialist at Crums Lane Elementary, Royce has worked in JCPS for seventeen years. She was elected JCTA Vice President in 2006. Previously, she has served on both the JCTA and KEA Boards of Directors. Royce currently chairs the Spotlight Committee. She says, “JCTA is about working for teachers and students to provide teachers with the materials and support to give students the best possible public education. The best thing about being involved in JCTA is making a difference for teachers locally, statewide and nationally.”

Treasurer
Dennis Wiseman

Dennis is a resource teacher with the Science department. Active in the association for many years, Dennis has been treasurer since 2001 and has previously served as JCTA Board member and Professional Representative. Dennis is also chair of JCTA’s political education committee (JCTA-PEC) and is Co-chair of the Credentials and Elections committee.

Secretary
Paula Miller

Paula is an ECE Resource teacher at Norton Elementary. She has taught in Jefferson County since 2000 and has previously worke din Indiana, Illinoi, Ohio, Cennecticut, and California. Paula is in her first year as secretary and also serves as a professional representative for her building. She has also been a delegate to the KEA Delegate Assembly and NEA Representative Assembly and has participated in KEA and NEA leadership trainings.
