When Can I Afford to Retire? No PD credit; snacks provided. Presented by NEA member Benefits Representative Guy Kendall-Freas, this workshop increases members’ awareness of their retirement system, their pension payout options, health care costs and more. Participants will be able to determine if they are on the right track in their retirement preparations and, if not, what their options are, including sheltering severance pay and purchasable service credit options. An overview of how the Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provisions (GPO/WEP) affect social security will also be provided. |

Ethics. Three hours PD credit; dinner provided. JCTA’s Ethics Training will provide a thorough understanding of the Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified Personnel. The session will also cover typical issues investigated by the Education Professional Standards Board, including confidentiality, unprofessional conduct, falsifying documents, supervision of students, and sexual misconduct.
