On Wednesday, September 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. UniServ Director Elana Crane will hold a ninety-minute workshop on the collective bargaining agreement that covers members’ salary and working conditions.  The session helps participants learn their rights and responsibilities under our contract, understand the grievance process, and know the answers to frequently-asked contract questions.  The session will be conducted virtually; participants will be emailed the link beforehand.

Join us as we model Restorative Practices through our How I am Surviving NTI 2.0 Restorative Circle.

  • JCTA teachers will have the opportunity to work with counselors, community members, and experts as we develop practical skills to bring Restorative Practices into our virtual classrooms.
  • This event will also provide an overview of the practices and discuss why they are imperative for our students’ success.
  • Hear from expert Monica Evans about Restorative Practices, who will discuss how we can build a supportive community within the school and decrease disruptive behaviors in the classroom.

She served on the Detroit Police Department from 2004 to 2014, working in youth violence prevention and intervention. Previously, Ms. Evans was a teacher.
