Crystal is originally from Southern Indiana and moved to Louisville in 2006. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and a master’s degree in School Library Media from the University of Kentucky. In 2019, she became Nationally Board Certified in Library Media. Crystal has previously served as a JCTA PR, JCTA board member, and KEA board member. She spent over 14 years in public education before becoming a public librarian at the Louisville Free Public Library. Her current responsibilities include managing all communications, including the ACTION and Weekly Roundupnewsletters, social media posts, and press releases. She also supports the Credentials and Elections Committee and the Communications Committee, as well as the Early Childhood, Special Education, and Implementation Caucuses. Outside of JCTA, Crystal enjoys attending local events around Louisville with her husband and walking their beagles around the neighborhood.

Jo Pierce joined JCTA in 2019. She worked with Jefferson County Public Schools for ten years in the Adult and Continuing Education Program as well as the Family Resource Youth Service Centers. Her background in data management and communications will serve her well in the role of Uniserv Associate, BSK associate and Membership lead. Jo works with Uniserv Directors Andrew Bailey, Antonia Lindauer, and Tyler Hartz. Outside of JCTA Jo enjoys spending time with family/friends and cooking or baking in her spare time.
