JCTA Offers MLK Exemplary Student Scholarships


JCTA is offering Exemplary Student Scholarships to two Jefferson County Public School seniors. The Jefferson County Teachers Association will honor these two JCPS seniors during its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Dinner with a $1,000 scholarship for each recipient. The dinner will take place on January 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The student and their guest(s) - no more than two other individuals - are requested to attend the memorial dinner. Please have your student submit a completed scholarship application to the JCTA office (located at 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 300) by 5:00 on Friday, December 19, 2014.
The two senior students must meet the following criteria:
1. Exemplify the ideals of Dr. King (i.e. honest, motivated, kind, and respectful to all).
2. Attend a JCPS school and be on track to graduate in May 2015.
3. A minimum 2.5 G.P.A.
4. Plan to attend college.
5. Plan to enter the teaching or other service profession.
6. Submit a complete scholarship application to the JCTA office (located at 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 300) by December 19, 2014.
7. Attend the memorial dinner on January 17th, 2015.
